How Napping is Ruining My Life (feat. Psychic Hand Lotion)

28.8.15

Ello, little ducks!

Though this week has been replete with productivity, I've overcompensated by taking multiple naps the minute I get home from work. Bad habbit. Napping sounds really fantastic until it's 3 in the morning, you're on your 5th episode of Sherlock, and sleep still feels a long way away. I wasn't completely useless, however. I did put some of my waking free time to good use; I was able to finish off the last page of a journal (!!), drawr a lil' bit, get things done around the house, & make some fewd.

Here's a few snap shots of the adventure:
The kids lookin' all quenched.
Lettering is hard.
Apparently, my hand lotion likes to address me personally. 10/10 made my day.
Lunch = honey wheat rye + pb + all the fruits in my fridge.
A quotation from one of my favorite plays.

This week marks another huge transition into a new sub-season of life. Looking forward to going back to my sandy home town, getting some much anticipated reading in, and slowing down the pace of what has been the speediest summer of my life. Distance does make the heart grow fonder-- Until it makes the heart grow desperate. Ah, well. At least I know to list "Visit Home More" on the agenda from now on.

On a different note, I'm beginning to realize that all of the seemingly irrelevant advice, warnings, and stories I gathered before leaving for school are slowly revealing themselves to be more and more applicable every day. I am constantly blown away by how flamboyantly stereotypical my college experience has been thus far. From homesickness, to weekly quarter life crises, to unconventional methods of doing life-- It has, in some way or another, been everything anyone's ever told me it would be. I feel like I'm trapped in a Buzzfeed article. But, hey, I've learned how to put on clasp bracelets with the help of nobody but m'self and can even keep my grocery budget under $60 a month WITH the purchase of avocados. That sounds like progress to me.

Here's to learning how to fight the good fight on this tumultuous journey we call early adulthood!

Salud,
J
